It's election day! Today during Period 5 we will be having the presentation of the campaign speeches for the students running for next year's Student Council. Speeches will take place in the big auditorium. Students are to go to their Period 5 class and will then proceed to the auditorium with their Period 5 teacher.

At 3:15 all students will return to their homerooms to vote. Results will be announced Monday morning.

Could all candidates please meet with Ms. Molloy at 8:25 in room E221.

Yesterday our Global Issues students traveled to Miyun with "Beijing Hikers" to 'clean up' a mountainside. Despite the rainy weather, they stayed in good spirits and made a difference to the environment by picking up trash as they hiked. This is something we can all do to help keep our world clean!

A big thank you to all CISB staff and students! GIN was able to raise 6100 RMB during Earth Week to put towards our charities (the Animal Shelter, Me to We, Wokai, and the Migrant Children's Foundation).

Student Council elections are coming up, posters are up for further information and the election schedule is also on the Student Council bulletin board. The positions available next year are President, Vice President, Junior Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Spirit leader, and Junior Spirit leader.

The requirements of a Spirit Leader is you have to be in grades 9-12 and grades 7, 8 for the junior spirit leader. You should have great public speaking skills, not shy, full of spirit, be the MC, and a good poster designer.

Today after school in Ms. Molloy's room (E221) there will be a meeting with all interested candidates and nomination forms will be given out.

Soccer

The boys soccer team played in the ACAMIS tournament in Dalian this past weekend. The team had a final record of 2 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie. The tournament MVP was Tom Kwon. The boys represented the school very well and showed great determination to win their final game 3-2, battling the cold rain and wind by coming back from being down 2 goals to none. Great tournament Bobcats and please remember to return your uniforms to coach Hambrook as soon as possible. Check out the photos on the blog.

Congrats to both the boy and girls middle school basketball teams both played some of their best games at this past weekend’s ISAAC tournament.Both teams came away with the sportsmanship awards.Way to go Bobcats!

Student Council Elections

Student Council elections are coming up and posters are up on the Student Council bulletin board for further information. The election schedule is also on the bulletin board and outside Mr. Dickson's office. The positions available next year are President, Vice President, Junior Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Spirit leader, and Junior Spirit leader.

The requirements of the Treasurer is you have to be in either grade 10, 11, or 12 next school year, excellent in math, honest, trustworthy, good in working with Microsoft Excel or other financial management applications. Your responsibility is to make budgets, keep track of the money flow, expenditures, make sure money is secured and kept safe.

The requirements of the Historian is you have to be in either grade 10, 11, or 12 next school year, involve in all school events, able to work with the IT department, flexible in time, and a good photographer. Your responsibility is to create and update the school blog, also keep updates of school recent events.

Tomorrow after school, there will be a meeting with all interested candidates and nomination forms will be given out.

Student Council elections are coming up and posters are up on the Student Council bulletin board for further information. The positions available next year are President, Vice President, Junior Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Sprit leader, and Junior Sprit leader.

-The requirements of the Junior Vice President is you have to be in grade 7 or 8 next school year, be a great assistant, show initiative, have good time management, organized in work, and a good motivator. You must be the representative for the middle school students, attend all the Student Council meetings, and assist in organizing school events or activities.

-The requirements for being a Secretary is you have to be in either grades 10, 11, or 12 next school year, have to be able to multitask, organized in work, able to work, and communicate well with the executive members. The secretary must be able to take minutes for the meeting, keep contacts with all the members, and keep updates of school events.

A new photo has been taken of something somewhere in our school. That picture has been placed on the student council board. Your job is to guess what the object or place is. Each day a hint will be released. Whoever can guess it right will receive a mystery prize.

Today's Challenge: How much energy have you been saving? Classroom teachers are reminded to kept track of your 'energy saving' this week. GIN students will be by tomorrow to collect your sheets and we'll report back on how much energy we saved this week!

SPORTS

Basketball
The lineup for tomorrows game is posted outside Gym A. There will be a quick meeting today at 1:25 in Mr. Sherrard's room, E120, for those on the list. Make sure you attend. There is also a team picture before tomorrow's game and everyone who attended practices is asked to come. The picture will be at 3:45 in the gym.

Soccer
Members of the boys soccer team who are attending the ACAMIS tournament tomorrow are to meet in Mr. Hambrook's room at 1:00 pm for a quick meeting.

The boys will also practice today after school and the team photo is cancelled.

Basketball
There will be a middle school girls basketball team practice today afterschool and tomorrow afterschool.Please see coach MacKay if you can’t make it.

Pink Shirt Day
On May 4th CISB will be holding a "Pink Shirt Day" (with ties available as well) as a way to demonstrate our belief that nobody should be bullied and that we have a school full of kind, helpful, friendly students and staff. Your homeroom teacher has the order form if you do not have a pink shirt or tie to wear on this day. Please return these forms and money by today so we can order your shirt and/or tie in time for this day.

Lego Robotics

Today at Lunch: Come build and program! Only 4 told us their shirt size yesterday so please come today if you are going to the competition on Saturday May 5 at BIS (we will have a bus to take our group there).

The president must attend all and lead the meetings. Must work cooperatively with other executive members and plan events during the school year. The president will also have to work with the principle and vice principle during the school year.
